Portrait of a Woman by Frantisek Drtikol circa 1920’s Drtikol photographs his model in the multi dimensional pose so successfully incorporated in communist Russia as its own fundamental art form, which we thought until now that they had invented. Here Drtikol either angles his camera or the negative in the enlarger. He gets his subject to hold a quenched fist across her body developing a “Pose of Strength”. A fascinating photographer whose work is often sold at Christies & Sotheby's as rare and collectable investments. Hand stamped limited edition exhibition print (50) from the Howard Collection.
